About the Artist
Dr. Heeren's professional life as a psychotherapist has explored emotions, spirit, mood - the essence of a person. Likewise, as an artist, she is drawn to expressions of our spirit and humanity.
Her paintings are expressions of emotions. The power of images to touch us and connect our souls.
She works primarily in watercolor and is fascinated with color and shape. Using fairly pure pigments her art is ablaze with rich hues.
She studied at the National Academy of Design School of Fine Art in New York. Her paintings have been exhibited throughout the United States and are in private collections.
She is an elected artist member of Pen and Brush in New York City and exhibits her paintings in their Gallery.
